Accessibility Statement
DRAFT — NOT PUBLISHED. This is the one policy where a false claim is easy to make and easy to disprove. Do not publish a conformance claim until the rebuilt site has actually been tested. An untested "WCAG 2.1 AA compliant" line is a claim anyone can check in thirty seconds.

Our commitment
Project X wants projectxagency.ca to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
What we have done

The rebuilt site was designed with:
- A single
<h1>per page and a logical heading order - Real semantic HTML — headings, lists, buttons and links used for what they are
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Visible keyboard focus indicators
- Colour contrast targeted at WCAG 2.1 AA for body text
- Support for
prefers-reduced-motion, so animation is suppressed for visitors who ask for it - Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to small screen widths
- Form fields with associated labels
Where we stand

Option A — before any testing (accurate today):
We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit of this site. We have built it against WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a design target, but we have not verified conformance and we do not currently claim it.
Option B — after partial testing:
We have tested this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and it is partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and some content does not yet. Known issues are listed below.
Option C — after a full audit:
This site conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, verified by [CONFIRM: who tested it, and when].
Recommendation: publish Option A at launch. It is honest, it is defensible, and it costs you nothing. Move to B or C when a real test has been run.

Standards and law
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our reference standard.
